Who is this qualification for?

The Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings (RQF) has been designed to provide a broad introduction to anyone looking to work in the sector. It provides learners with a solid introduction to health and social care, and can support them in their role. There are no formal prerequisites, but a good grasp of English reading and writing is beneficial as the course involves written questions and answers.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?

This depends on the level of your prior knowledge and experience combined with how much time and effort you put into completing the work.

How is the qualification assessed?

You will access our online learning resources and e-portfolio where you will find your knowledge questions and your assessment plans. You will be able to see your overall qualification progress as each of the units are completed.

The qualification is considered complete once all questions have been answered satisfactorily. There is no final examination required.

Under the guidance of tutor Joanne at Pentagon Skills, I drew on my work skills and all that I have learnt about caring for Service Users. When I was feeling stuck, stressed or struggling, I knew I could turn to Joanne, either over the telephone or Whatsapp and she responded with compassion which soothed any anxiety and helpful comments to improve my work. The reflections I provided in my units were cathartic and I realised how much I had learned from people. The wide range of topics in studying for Level 2 were informative and a valuable learning experience.
